This Modern 1990s Fireplace Tile Mantle needed some Old World Love for me to be able to Live with it. We took some old spackle (tile filler) and spread it on the wall to make for an old 18th century worn away stone look.
Then I bought Rustic brick tiles from my local Hardware(do it yourself store) and broke the pieces up and spakled them on the edges like an old jigsaw puzzle. It gave the look of an aging brick fireplace slowing aging ,but with a feel of the old architecture of Ancient buildings in European churches and castles. |
